Cowboy Hat Tattoos: Live Pyrography for Calgary Stampede Events
For ten days every July, Calgary lives in a cowboy hat. It is the one accessory every guest already owns, which makes it the perfect canvas for personalization.
During the 2025 Calgary Stampede I spent all ten days offering cowboy hat "tattoos" for IQOS: names, initials, and small designs burned by hand into felt and straw hats using pyrography. Each one took only a few minutes, and guests wore the result for the rest of Stampede.
How Live Pyrography Works
Pyrography uses a heated tip to burn a design permanently into a natural surface. On a hat, the finish is a rich, burnished line that looks as though it was always meant to be there. It works beautifully on felt, straw, leather, and wood, so hat bands, belts, and wooden keepsakes are all possible.
It is a quiet showstopper. Guests gather to watch, the line builds naturally, and every finished hat becomes a walking mention of your event.
Cowboy hat pyrography is available for Stampede parties, corporate hosting, western themed weddings, and brand activations. Stampede dates are limited and book early.
