A Unique Commission for the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin: Honouring Wine Culture with Calligraphy

One of the most unique and rewarding commissions I've had the privilege to work on was for the 2024 members of the prestigious Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, a fine wine Burgundy club that began in 1934. This special project involved writing the names and locations of the Calgary chapter's members in a beautifully crafted book, marking their contribution to this historic club. The Calgary chapter itself was founded in 1997, and it was an honour to participate in such a meaningful tradition.

While this project wasn’t my usual style of writing, my client was delighted with the mix of modern calligraphy and Spencerian I used, giving it a personal and refined touch that fit perfectly. The book is filled with the names of each member, though for privacy, they have been blurred out.

Calligraphy is a versatile art form that can beautifully elevate any project, and I’d love to bring that touch to your unique ideas. Do you have a project in mind that requires the artistry of calligraphy? Let’s chat!
